Frequently Asked Questions
What is PhotoDrop?
PhotoDrop is the easiest way to share a bunch of pictures with friends, family or everybody in the world. There's no registration required to create a photo album. You can just go to the home page and start uploading some photos. But to make the process even easier, we've created a Windows System Tray tool that allows users to drag-and-drop pictures to create new albums. We have not been able to find an easier tool to create and share photo albums and we hope you enjoy it.
Where are my pictures stored?
PhotoDrop uses a combination of in-house and Amazon's S3 service for storage services. Your images could be stored at either facility. By leveraging Amazon's S3, PhotoDrop has virtually an endless amount of storage space.
What is the storage limit for my photos?
Unlike other photo storage sites, PhotoDrop does not have a limit on storage space as long as your account has been active in the past 90 days. Inactive accounts who's albums are not viewed at least once in a 90-day period will be queued up for deletion.
For how long are my photos stored?
For a minimum of 90 days or as long as your account is active or your album page is being viewed at least once every 90 days. Inactive accounts who's albums are not viewed at least once in a 90-day period will be queued up for deletion.
I don't get it. No storage limits and it's Free! What's in it for you?
As the site grows in popularity, we expect to make money from advertising to cover the costs and then some. In the meantime, Axosoft LLC is covering all the costs.
Can I see and manage a list of albums I've created?
Album management and creation is availble for users of the freely available Photo DropZone client tool. Just right click the DropZone client system tray icon to get the context menu and click "Account Information" or login using the above menu "My Account".
